Sitting in the warm sun on a breezy, 75 degree day. Baby’s asleep for the next two hours, so mommy can catch up on blogs, drink tea with cream and honey, and eat a couple homemade cinnamon rolls while laundry dries on the line. Ahhhh.
Look what I did today: I found this firewood stacker in the woods today. Strangely enough, I have coveted one since I was ten or so and saw one in one of those in-flight magazines – no kidding! – I have really always wanted this exact model, and there it was sitting abandoned in the […]
An incubator! For $3, at some random yard sale. Doesn’t get better than that. Let the poultry begin!

(I think that’s my non-New-Year’s resolution: to start pausing long enough to take “before” pics with all the renovations we do at this house. But man I am so impatient!) Here the bed is laid […]
So we’re fine. Now that we know we have a tiny field of edible mushrooms in the back, I wonder if there are any dishes I could cook with them?
Of a heart attack, if nothing else. So I let her out into our “safe” little fenced yard today, turned my back for literally 30 seconds, and found she’d crawled across the yard and was busily munching on something. She likes to eat grass, so I wasn’t alarmed, but hurried over anyway and found her […]
