New traditions
I’ve said before that I hope to make Sofía a princess dress for every Christmas.
My favorite part was having her help me design it; she got to pick the color and help pick the buttons. I involved her a little bit in drawing the pattern, and then did all the actual sewing in the evenings after she went to bed. I wonder if her unbridled enthusiasm with the finished product has a little bit to do with her already knowing something of what to expect.
We’ll see how long this tradition will go on; she may turn out to be a tomboy, she may rather have these dresses for Halloween, or other things might interfere.
But this year it went over so well that despite all the work I’m already excited for next year’s.
