The fruits on the trees were getting bigger and bigger – some of the peaches were already starting to get a bit of a blush on them! So it was time to bite the bullet and say goodbye to the possibility of fruit this year.

It was pretty brutal, thinking about all the fruit that we could have had – but the sacrifice is well worth a long-lived, prolific, happy tree.

I left two fruits on each tree. I hope it’s not too much for them – I hope the birds don’t get them first – heck, I hope they taste good after all this waiting!

so stripping the fruit will strengthen the tree? I know nothing of these things….

Boy, what a lot of fruit (Peach?). Sad to have to see it down…don’t leave the fruit under the tree, unless the chickies like it and “take care” of it all.Otherwise it will mold…bring in pesty bugs, but then you know that, don’t you.

I know how you feel! I had to do the same a week or so ago with the apple trees, made me sad to cut them all off but all is for the best:)
