Pigtails!
Sofía’s hair is long enough in the back that I can gather it up in two pigtails now!
Of course she wore her brand-new ‘do over to our Thanksgiving get-together. She was so, so good – normally ponytails last approximately five minutes on her, but this time – apart from some fiddling – she left them alone the whole time and kept pointing at them and saying “Pingu!” Which means ponytail. Of course.
She got to sit on the sink and watch me while I put on makeup, and it was the funniest thing: each time I finished with a tube and put it down (tightly closed of course), she reached out and grabbed it and rubbed it on her own face. What a girl. 
I’m so happy. I’m looking forward to lots of girly afternoons thinking up new hairdos.
